3rd Sunday of Advent: Joy Sunday

This Sunday we will celebrate Joy in many ways throughout the worship service. The Wysockey-Johnson family will lead the Advent Candle Lighting Liturgy, and we will have an opportunity to bless the Christmas gifts gathered for the Outreach Committee’s Giving Tree Program. Our readings approach Joy Sunday from the perspective of Joseph, which ties neatly into one of our Advent Study books. Finally, our choir will delight us with joyful singing… here’s a note from Esther:

Most choral Christmas music include a familiar melody and this year is no different. You will hear O Holy Night in our first anthem, Mary Had a Baby in our second and Angels We Have Heard on High in the third anthem.

We invite the congregation to sing with the choir when Song of the Angels is sung. The congregation will start with the choir and end when the first verse and chorus have been sung. The congregation will join the choir towards the end when everyone sings the refrain of Angels We Have Heard on High.
