Richmond Congregational Church is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC) denomination.
United Church of Christ Statement of Faith In the Form of a Doxology:
We believe in you, O God, Eternal Spirit, God of our Savior Jesus Christ and our God, and to your deeds we testify. You call the worlds into being, create persons in your own image, and set before each one the ways of life and death.
You seek in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin. You judge people and nations by your righteous will declared through prophets and apostles. In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen savior, you have come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to yourself
You bestow upon us your Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant faithful people of all ages, tongues, and races.
You call us into your Church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be your servants in the service to others, to proclaim the gospel to all the world and resist the power of evil, to share in Christ's baptism and eat at his table, to join him in his passion and victory. You promise to all who trust you forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, your presence in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in your realm which has no end. Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto you. Amen.

Membership in Richmond Congregational Church has four dimensions: Faith: Our relationship to God. We are challenged to a life of prayer and study. A deepened awareness of God's presence comes in the midst of our real life dilemmas as well as in times of joy and celebration. Meaning: Our relationship to ourselves. We are God's children and our life has purpose and direction. We seek to understand God's particular call to each of us, and to live in the fullness of that life.
Fellowship: Our relationship to others. We belong to an extended family and listen to and learn from each other. We join with each other in times of sorrow as well as times of celebration.
Practice: Our shared responsibilities for the world in which we live. We believe Christians are called to work and pray for justice, peace, and understanding. The process of becoming a member of RCC: Begin with baptism and is followed by a decision to covenant together with this congregation to grow in knowledge and love of God and to live out our faith in daily life by becoming involved in the church's mission and by supporting its ministry. Through Membership in RCC, you will Deepen your spiritual life Gain the strength which comes when you know that you are not alone, and to the courage to continue your journey of faith in the world Join with others in working for a better world
